Welcome Trekkers to the 57^th Bug Tussle Trek 2025

The AACA Texas DFW Region welcomes you to the 57^th annual Bug Tussle Trek. Thanks for joining us & hope you have a fun time with fellow Trekkers!

Our Trek starts at 213 McKinney St., Farmersville at 9AM sharp. Arrive early to check in by gazebo, then enjoy donuts/coffee courtesy of Farmersville Chamber of Commerce. Restrooms are available at local shops. Before we depart, we’ll join the world-famous Bug Tussle Cheerleaders on traditional kick-off cheers. At 8:50 AM, 10 minutes before we depart, the air horn will blow 3 times. A single blow indicates we are departing for Ladonia Downtown Square.

We arrive in Ladonia at approx. 10:05AM. Pick up a goody bag (1 per car) at City Hall. Restrooms available (2 porta potties, and a single restroom in City Hall). We depart approx.10:50AM, listen for the air horn as before.

Our next stop is Bug Tussle. Yea Bug Tussle! We’ll arrive approx. 11AM. Pick up your cheer fan & Pom from a volunteer. The world-famous Bug Cheerleaders will lead us on our annual group cheers. We’ll take a group photo, then depart approx. 11:40AM for the Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham. Listen for the air horn as before, 10 minutes before we depart, the horn will blow 3 times.

Arriving approx. 12:05PM, we’ll park around the Fannin County Courthouse. Pick up snacks/drinks in the Visitor Center located at the corner of North Main and Sam Rayburn Dr. off the square. Restrooms available inside. Be sure to check out all the fun surrounding shops. At 12:50PM we’ll depart for Roy V Floyd Community Center a mile away for lunch.

If you pre-purchased a BBQ Lunch, you’ll pick up your lunch ticket from a volunteer in front of the J & S Food Truck located at the Roy V Floyd Community Center. After you pick up your lunch, or if you brought your own lunch, head inside to enjoy your lunch inside the Roy V Floyd Community Center.

Approx. 2PM, we’ll regroup and depart from the Roy V Floyd Community Center for the Coffee Mill Lake restroom stop. We should arrive at the Coffee Mill Lake Recreation center for a restroom break at 2:45PM.

At 3:30PM we depart for our final stop in Paris, TX arriving at the Holiday Inn / Comfort Inn at approx. 4:15PM for hotel check-in.

The Holiday Inn hospitality room, adjacent to lobby, will open for registered trekkers from approx. 5-6PM for light snacks/beverages.

At 6:15PM, head over from the hotel to the Lamar County Historical Museum (1009 W Kaufman St., Paris, Texas 75460). We’ve pre-paid and arranged for the Museum to stay open late just for our Bug Tussle Trekkers. This is a wonderful Museum that highlights history of the area and is ever evolving. Be sure to check it out!

For trekkers who pre-purchased a banquet dinner, head over to the adjacent Heritage Hall (doors open at 7pm), where you’ll pick up your ticket to attend the banquet.

If you didn’t pre-purchase a banquet dinner/preferr dining on your own, there are many great options in Paris.

After dinner, head back to the Holiday Inn hospitality room visit with fellow Trekkers. We’ll open the Hospitality room after dinner, around 9:30pm till….?

Sunday, we’ll depart at 9am for Farmersville using a direct route. If you prefer a different route or schedule to visit shops, Eiffel Tower, or Veterans Memorial, we understand and hope everyone travels home safely.
