Bug Tussle FAQ:

  1. What is the Bug Tussle?It’s a super fun one day car cruise that is free to join and all are welcome during fantastic weather thru the beautiful countryside .
  2. Where does the cruise go? The trek begins in Farmersville, TX, then to Ladonia, TX, off to Bug Tussle, TX, then Bonham, TX and ends in Paris TX.
  3. How do I know where to go, times to arrive and leave along the way? Everyone registered will receive an email with the route and tour agenda, instructions, and map. When you arrive in Farmersville, we will provide a printed turn by turn map and goody bag to all registered participants.
  4. How far is the drive? The Trek is about 100 miles, with multiple stops in fun cities for breaks and fun.
  5. How will we know on the tour when the cars are about to leave to the next location? We will blow a very loud air horn 3 times 5 minutes before we leave, and one long blow as we pull away. It would be hard to get lost or left.
  6. What is the temperature during the Trek? Historically the lows are in the mid 60F’s, and the highs are projected to be 85F.
  7. Does it cost anything to drive with all the cars and be in the trek? No, it cost nothing to drive the tour, and we welcome everyone. Cars older than 25 years of age lead the tour with more modern cars following them.
  8. Where do I purchase the limited-edition Bug Tussle shirt, or lunch and or dinner banquet meals?   9. Is the Bug Tussle Trek a fund-raising event for anything? NO. To participate is free and all (optional) meals and shirts / swag is priced to cover costs.
  10. Who puts on the Bug Tussle? Bug Tussle has been hosted for over 56 years by the Texas DFW Region of AACA https://texas-dfw.aaca.com/
  11. How fast do the vehicles travel on the cruise? The slowest car sets the pace; we do not want to leave anyone behind. Last year a Ford Model T averaged 45-50mph.
  12. I see the towns you stop in have people handing out goody bags, water, and snacks. Is there a charge for these? NO. We also have a water truck with iced down bottled water that is free to all participants during the run.
  13. Why do we stop in Bug Tussle, there isn’t anything but an old general store remaining? We have been stopping at the Bug Tussle store for 56 years. Often, we meet up with the world-famous Bug Tussle Cheerleaders there for some fun and cheers.
  14. Can I invite my entire Car/ Truck/Jeep/Motorcycle club to join us? Absolutely, everyone is welcome. We love old vehicles, and they lead the tour ahead of modern vehicles.
  15. What car clubs come to the event? We currently have the following clubs registering participates, but it’s still early. Texas DFW AACA, Dallas Area Pontiac Association – DAPA, PCNA Mavericks chapter, Greenville AACA, Buick Club of NTX, Cadillac LaSalle Club North Texas region, the Metroplex Mini, and Dallas Early Ford V8 Club. You do not have to belong to a club to join us.
